Alongside being a careers mentor, I held full-time successive positions at Bloomberg LP and MSCI Inc. Bloomberg is a financial media conglomerate that provides financial news and information, research, and financial data to the investment banking industry. MSCI Inc. is a global provider of investment decision support tools, including indices, portfolio risk and performance analytics, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) research. They serve institutional investors such as asset managers and pension funds, helping them make informed investment decisions.

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with and driven by numbers. As a child, I would sit and count money for fun, which must have given me a healthy obsession with finance from a young age. Growing up, I didn’t have the luxury of being surrounded by wealthy individuals, so I set out on a path to create my own financial freedom. Throughout my life, I have always been curious about the stock market, and what fascinates me is the vast range of drivers, whether economic, political, or company-specific news.

Becoming aware of my mathematical ability during college, I began to take steps toward my career plans by studying it at university. Toward the end of my course, I focused my efforts on financial modules, in addition to obtaining a part-time Business Development position at a stockbrokers. After graduating, I worked at a private bank that served ultra-high-net-worth individuals. As a portfolio analyst, I supported the CIO in producing material on the economic outlook and helped orchestrate over £500 million in multi-asset funds. Three years later, I returned to academia to obtain a Master's in Finance from the University of Liverpool, achieving a Distinction with an average of 84%. I performed at the top of my class, receiving an award for Student of the Year. My dissertation about the effects of ESG Investing was the highest-rated within the entire management school.

I did not initially attend a target school; I was the first in my immediate family to go to university, and everything I have achieved has been through my own initiative. I have overcome many hurdles throughout my journey, and I want to help others break down those barriers too.
